Strategies for making the pyramids and tombs:
To make the pyramids, Egyptians used ramps. They might have used one long straight ramp on one side of the pyramid. They also could of used a winding ramp that went all around the pyramid like a spiral. The last theory is that the Egyptians used a combination of the two above. Another type of pyramid was the step pyramid. It was made putting one layer onto another to look like stairs or steps.

This is a picture of the Sphinx. The Sphinx is a statue that consists of a human head and the body of a lion. Since it has the body of a lion, it can be predicted that the Egyptians thought highly of lions. The Sphinx also shows how Egyptians were very good at architecture, especially for their time. The Egyptians did not have cranes or other technology to help them make the Sphinx. They must have been very hard working, persistent, and intelligent to be able to make it. The head of the Sphinx is symmetrical which shows that the Egyptians were smart to be able to measure the angles and shapes of the Sphinx. It takes a long time and a lot of work to make that piece of architecture without any machines- only people. That shows that the Egyptians were hard working for not giving up and working for that long. It shows persistents for working on it even thought it was probably slow.
