What was the role of a woman in Ancient Egypt?
Woman roles depended on which class she was in (upper, middle, lower). If a women was wealthy enough, they could serve as priest, managing temples and performing religious ceremonies. Wives of farmers often worked in the fields with husbands. women of the higher classes often stayed at home while their husbands worked at their worked at their jobs. This shows that if the husband didn't need their wives help to work, the women would stay home. This usually happens in the upper classes and not the lower classes. A women can manage all of the property of hers and sell it on her will. She can also buy any property she wants without any kind of barrier. This is one of the important attribute to recognize the important attributes to recognize the importance of the role of women in ancient Egypt.

Pharaoh Cleopatra:
Cleopatra became pharaoh at the age of seventeen around 51 B.C. It is believe that she ruled with her father and after his death, with her younger brother. Cleopatra was known as "Queen of the Nile". She committed suicide in 30 B.C. Cleopatra was the last female to be pharaoh.

Nefertiti was the wife of Pharaoh Akhenaton. They ruled together for about seventeen years. Nefertiti is known to have been very beautiful. She is believed to have ruled independently around 1336 B.C.
